Amnon Harari 

Brig. Gen (Ret.); Head of Space Programs, Directorate of Defense R&D, Israel Ministry of Defense

Brigadier general (Ret.) Amnon Harari is currently the head of Space Programs, Directorate of Defense R&D, Israel Ministry of Defense.
Brigadier general Harari retired from his military service in the Israeli Air Force in 1997, where his last position was the head of the Israeli Air Force Materiel Directorate which is the Air Force organization responsible of all research, development, acquisition, maintenance, logistics and control of all Air Force material: Aircraft, Ground and Support systems and Infrastructure.

His previous assignments in the service included the head of the Electronics systems department in the Air Force Materiel Directorate, the commander of the Electronic Depot and various R&D and project management positions in the Air Force material organization.

After retirement, and prior to his return to the defense arena, General Harari held various positions in the industry, including CEO of Alcatel in Israel, CEO of the investment arm of Orange, Israel, VP of sales and later R&D of Lumenis Ltd, the world leader in medical lasers and others.

General Harari holds a B.Sc. degree in Physics from the University of Tel Aviv. He is also the former chairman of the Israeli Gliding Association, active pilot and instructor with over 2,400 flying hours.
